The new SNI asks the question, "Where are the youthful Seth/Jane Roberts readers?" I think that's a very complex question and perhaps we'll explore some of its facets in a later post. As a beginning it's worth "answering" that question with some others.
- Where are the Seth movies, YouTube videos and Podcasts? We're not thinking of boring old talking head geezers here but something with a little mojo.
- Where are the Seth Photoshop creations and Flash animations?
- Where are the Seth short stories and poems?
Times have changed. We are, by and large, people of the screen now rather than people of the book. Kevin Kelly, Becoming Screen Literate Can you blame the youth? Who wants to read some musty old geezer writing that's been around for forty years when the people selling this snake oil seem pretty much like everyone else?
The youthful Seth/Jane Roberts readers are missing because we've been oh so timidly imaginative about using Seth's material.
I've been looking for a way to create a music video with Seth quotes in a very professional way. I already wrote the music and recorded it but making a good video with moving text requires software I just don't have.
ReplyDeleteI'm young enough to be familiar with this stuff, but on the other hand, nothing can convey the interlocking beauty and occasional complexity of Seth statements like a good paragraph. There are elements of recursion, reflection, of awareness...I think these complex concepts need to "explode" in the mind of a reader. I've yet to see any animation, no matter how snazzy and up to date that I would trust to convey that material.
Hello there! I'm twenty-two.
ReplyDeleteFor all of my life I've been inquisitive about reality- even as a child I often gave serious consideration to the idea that everything around me was somehow "set up" before I was born!- so it was no coincidence that I was later introduced to the Seth material. There are many, many of us who have these subjects on our minds... I think we just tend to get integrated so much into what we believe is "normal society" that we become hesitant to really make a commitment of searching for our inner truths and dimensions. Especially with all of these complex distractions going on! And not just youths, but the older generations as well- with the acceleration of technology, science, political madness, global awareness, etc, how could anyone have had the time? How is anyone's brain not utterly boggled by the mess of information it must continually sort out? It can also be a scary thing to suddenly disband from a lifelong of illusory beliefs, especially with increasing reinforcement of "normality" surrounding you, agreed upon by now the entire human population through social media. However, there is a deep and exciting knowledge which bubbles up regardless in a great lot of us, in whichever way it does. I can only speak from my experience, of course, but I feel that the so-far unaddressed presence of inner reality is becoming increasingly unignorable with the divisions going on in our idea systems, especially regarding peoples attitudes toward themselves, their religions, and their scientific beliefs. These divisions cannot go unfaced forever. There is a part of many who believe in such things, but also believe that religion is a fairytale, and are conflicted. I believe there is fantastic information in "The Individual Nature of Mass Events" in regard to these things. I do not know anyone else within my age bracket in my town who has read the Seth material, but I do know a good lot of people who are determined to explore the layers of our reality. The knowledge is surfacing, although I'd say that the water has just begun to boil.
As far as why the Seth material in particular has not been more well-read, I'm befuddled as well. Maybe it has, but the individual is not comfortable reaching out yet.
Anyway, I hope that gives you some comfort, even four years late.
